Who Am I ?

Hi everybody, some of you guys have been wondering about myself so here it goes !


My name is Colomba and I´m 21 yo. 

I normally leave in France, Paris to be precise but I am currently doing a year in Chile for my stydies. I have been living in Santiago for aprox 9 months and enjoyed every bit of that time. Discovering a new lifestyle, traveling a lot and meeting people is something I really find amazing.

I´m in my fourth year of architecture stydies, three down and one more to go! Those are good studies, interesting and exciting but also very challenging... and expensive ;)

About my free time, I love spending time with my friends and family, go out to have a few drinks or a coffee but also live for staying at home with a book and some music to listen to. On top of that I am a foody so cooking and tasting new stuff are for sure a pleasure!

    as u said u like to go out for a coffee, do u have a favorite coffee shop in Santiago? There are some very good ones here in Lastarria

One of my favorite meals that holds a special place in my heart is the poke bowl. The Aaltos

Today I am gonna tell you about an architect I truly admire : Alvar Aalto, and his wife Aino Aalto. Hugo Alvar Henrik Aalto   was a Finnish architect  and designer.   In 1916, he then enrolled to study architecture at the Helsinki University of Technology . His studies were interrupted by the Finnish Civil War , in which he fought.  On 6 October 1924, Aalto married the architect Aino Marsio .  His architectural work, throughout his entire career and  together with his wife , would design not only the building but the interior surfaces, furniture, lamps, and glassware as well. His furniture designs are considered Scandinavian Modern , an aesthetic reflected in their elegant simplification and concern for materials, especially wood.  His work reflects a deep desire to humanize architecture through an unorthodox handling of form and materials that was both rational and intuitive.
